Photographer Shani Scarlet Kagan, Art director Kevin Grandel de Keating and fashion Stylist Rafael Art, invited 5 influential cultural leaders to take their personal ‘Royal Portraits’, as a part of the local royal family.  The ‘Royal Portraits’ project is about the change in our society, where cultural leaders became regional admirable personas of the new democracies.  In the modern times where monarchies hardly exist, the new cultural leaders enjoy the status of the ‘royal persona’ (singers, artists, architects) where their image plays between their real personality and their public image.

Ilan Garibi folds stainless steel metal by hand, creating an Origami effect, that reflects light between each fold. It is considered the first metal tessellation in the world. The new collection, launched in September 2012, consists of both wall and floor pieces that can serve as installations in private homes or contemporary offices, adding beauty and an artful flair.

Ilan Garibi, Origami Master and Ofir Zucker, Industrial Designer, collaborated to produce The Palms Collection for Talents Design.

The Palms are constructed using a type of tessellation called Origami Diamond Corrugation. Each vase is cast into hand folded Origami patterns that contain 150-250 molecules according to height. Each pattern has can only be used one-time after the cement is poured as the paper pattern becomes destroyed.

Ilan invents and develops the original folding and creates the paper pattern. Ofir then continues the process by performing the concrete casting from a compound created on his own.

Designed exclusively for Talents Design House, and first revealed at the Milan Design Fair held at the prestigious Spazio Rossana Orlandi, the Mad Cow Armchair is truly a statement. 

The Armchair was recently featured in French superstar Mylene Farmer’s music video, Lonely Lisa. It can also be seen in a music video for the artist Dana International.

Composed of a fiberglass and resin base with an exterior finished by high glossy car paint, the Mad Cow Armchair is a timeless icon.

Tesler-Mendelovitch is an up-and-coming Textile Design couple that experiments with a wide range of materials to create revolutionary pieces.

Tesler-Mandelovich created the Collection using traditional craftsmanship techniques and modern design technology. Each piece is lightweight and sustainable, composed of a special interior wood structure and foam and finished by a durable custom wood veneer that makes them both beautiful and practical. Playing uniquely with geometric lines and scale, the side and coffee tables are versatile enough for either a contemporary or classical space.

The RE-MOS pendant light fixtures are simple yet sophisticated lighting elements designed by Tal Gur for Talents Design gallery. These ceramic cylinders float over the environment. The Collection’s clean basic shapes, along with the crown mirrored bulbs, spread light softly and can suit living and dining areas, giving off a warm low light. When placed together, the RE family creates a clean architectural floating ensemble.

Created as a counter-action to the Modernistic movement, Architect Gaon’s ‘Ossobuccu’ represents a return to basic figures and forms. Gaon played with the idea that when prehistoric man picked the ‘first’ flower for his prehistoric woman, a bone was probably used as the first vessel to hold it. Ossobuccu is the first flower’s vase.

The Ossobucco’s proportions are meant for holding a bundle of hand-picked flowers rather then large sophisticated bouquets.

Samy D is one of Israel’s leading ceramics artists and designers, internationally recognized for his art. The Volcano series was exclusively developed for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Hong Kong. The Hunter Collection is new limited series of sculptural coat hangers. While executing this project Studio Godspeed sought out clichés, environmental decay and beauty in the raw leftovers of an urban environment as inspiration. Each ‘Trophy’ piece came about through the collection and assembly of raw wooden scrap materials from the streets, making them truly original. The Hunter Collection combines kitsch iconography with sculptural art and functionality; thus proving once more that ‘one man’s trash – is another man’s treasure’.

This limited edition piece of the Sliced Collection is an 8-meter long reception desk, originally designed especially for one of Israel’s top Architects’ new office space. At the core of the ‘Sliced’ project was the notion of creating a form that would continue to behave as an integral whole – no matter at what point it would be ‘sliced’. The process of abstraction of a very natural form and the translation of  it to terms of 3D modeling created a semi-controlled chaotic outcome accentuated in the repetitive ripples of the elongated ‘Sliced’ piece.

Artist Shulamit Etzion’s ‘White Deer’ is a statement. This sculpture, installed in the private home of Architect Moshe Bachar, speaks to the idea of a defense mechanism that when enlarged, can become a burden and therefore, a  weakness. Etzion submitted the project to the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design (Ceramic Design Faculty) as her final project.

The Gallery & Shop

The Gallery & Shop, based in Tel Aviv and online, sells unique and limited edition pieces developed collaboratively with leading Israeli designers and artists.

Offering furniture, lighting, accessories and art pieces, we build each collection around a thematic idea that celebrates exquisite craftsmanship and quality materials. Each piece is carefully chosen to make a visual impact and statement.

We sell to private clients, collectors, architects, interior designers, galleries, showrooms and corporations around the world.  We work hand-in-hand with our clients to create customized finishings tailored to their individual tastes.

The Design Studio

The Talents Design Studio welcomes commissions from private clients and companies interested in developing customized luxury pieces with international and Israeli designers. This can include the creation of a specific piece or a full collection.

We also take on interior design projects using pieces from the Talents collection.

We work in partnership with you, overseeing the creative process from design to prototyping to production, ensuring seamless execution.

The Creative Consulting Agency

Owner and Art Director, Gal Gaon, offers design consulting services for international companies and brands. This includes art direction and trend research for collection development, magazines and photo shoots.

Gal also provides consulting and mentorship to designers already in the field or those looking to enter the international market.

Gal Gaon (B.ARCH+MBA) is the Owner & Art Director of Talents Design House and a Professor for Architecture and Design at the Israeli Academy. The driving force behind the Talents Design brand, Gal’s love for edgy aesthetics has placed him at the forefront of the 21st century design scene. Gal has significant experience spearheading innovative projects with leading international designers and artists.
